For now, the map just has the wedding location and neighborhoods we recommend for finding accommodations. We’ll update it later with more places and fun things to do!

Getting there:

🚘 By car:

Modern GPS usually does a really good job! Certainly better than we could do!

🛩️ By plane:

The New Orleans International Louis Armstrong airport was recently opened. It is generally nice and accessible. There are ride services at the airport from the major rideshare apps (Uber and Lyft). An airport ride to downtown New Orleans is usually between $30 and $40 dollars.

Alas, public transport from the airport is complicated. You can always ask your hotel if they provide a shuttle service though.

⚜️ For travelers coming from France:

We recommend several airlines:

  • British Airways has a direct London - New Orleans route that is really nice. In particular, you get to go through customs when arriving at New Orleans. These flights are not daily, however.
  • Air France or their American partner Delta usually provide great service. Their usual connecting hub is Atlanta.
  • American Airlines is also a good option
  • For the adventurous with friends in New York and/or those on a budget, French Bee provides inexpensive and decent flights to New York from Roissy airport. Once in New York, a round trip to New Orleans can be pretty affordable if you have a place to stay for one or more nights in New York.

📅 How long should I stay?

Our wedding day is on Sunday, October 26, 2025. For those traveling, we recommend spending a couple of days before and after the ceremony in the city if possible.

For those interested in planning a longer trip, we will be updating the page later on with fun things to do in the area! For instance, Halloween is the weekend after the wedding and, if you know New Orleans culture, you know we love costumes and dressing up! Halloween is usually a super fun time here!

📍 Where should I stay?

Hotels and Airbnb’s are available. Airbnb’s have been controversial here but they are still a nice option, especially if you prefer residential areas and have kids and/or large groups.

We have all categories of hotels, from upscale and historical to affordable.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for feedback before booking your stay!

New Orleans isn’t really big, but it has many different areas. These are the areas we generally recommend for finding lodging:

  • French Quarter
  • Marigny Triangle (delimitation: Esplanade/St. Claude/Elysian Fields)
  • Marigny/Bywater (delimitation: Esplanade/St. Claude/Poland Ave)
  • Historic Treme (delimitation: Basin St/Claiborne/Rampart St/Elysian Fields)
  • Garden District
  • Uptown
  • Central Business District (most big chain hotels are there but it’s the neighborhood with the least character!)
  • Mid-City/Bayou St. John (very nice, quiet area!)

🚖 Traveling while in the city:

In general, public transport in the city is complicated. We have historical streetcar (tramway) lines that are really nice and cheap, but are perhaps more appropriate for sightseeing. Buses do exist but are infrequent and usually for people going in and out of work.

The city is generally pretty accessible by foot. All the neighborhoods mentioned above are great areas to walk around!

At night or otherwise, we suggest traveling by car. Rideshare apps (Uber/Lyft) are usually pretty quick and affordable. While traveling by car inside the city proper, everything is usually 5 to 15 minutes away at most.

🌦️ What’s the weather like?

October in New Orleans is usually one of the best times of the year! The weather is nice, between 27°/18° Celsius (81°/62° Fahrenheit) and not super humid.

However, October is also a transition month. The hot and humid temperatures of the summer may still linger for a while and the chilly cold winter weather can sometimes come early so it’s good to be prepared for both (and you better believe the humidity makes the chill feel really cold!).

🌀 Will there be a hurricane?

Well, climate change is real and we are increasingly seeing more late summer/early fall storms. However, if that happens, you will be given at least 3 to 4 days notice and will absolutely have enough time to make plans accordingly.
